Our range of signal processing instruments bridge the gap between the traditional passive Data Acquisition I/O devices and the modern complex Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). Our powerful and versatile devices offer unrivalled performance and many advantages when compared to PLCs. Most notably the ability to perform signal processing ‘out of the box’ – without any programming. Unlike many of the alternatives, our products have truly universal inputs and outputs; featuring support for 30 signal types including most Resistance Temperature (RTD) and Thermocouple (T/C) sensor types. Our inbuilt linearisation algorithm converts the raw output of these types of sensor into temperature units (C/F/K) with a high level of accuracy.
Industrial grade communications over Copper, Fibre, Ethernet or Radio with support for the most widely used industrial protocol – MODBUS in ASCII, RTU, JBUS or TCP variants. These products can operate as either Master or Slave devices. All models are fitted with RS485/422 communications as standard and can be specified with an additional interface in either Multimode Fibre Optic or Ethernet TCP/IP which can function as a gateway to other devices via the RS485/422 port (4 wire full duplex only). 19″ Rack-Mounted models can be fitted with another additional Ethernet interface that provides a diagnostic/management port supporting Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
Designed for maximum Signal Integrity, these devices feature full isolation. Including isolation between individual channels or signal types, isolated power supply and isolated communications. Our approach eliminates ground loops and common mode issues without the need for signal isolators, ensuring that your measurements are accurate, stable and immune to noise regardless of how bad the installation environment is.
Equipped with Intelligence, our products can be much more than simple communicating I/O blocks. With easy to use configurable functions and logic, the devices can be used to perform many tasks that would otherwise require a PLC which in turn requires significant effort and skill to program. Mathematical calculations, combinational logic, comparators and alarm trip points are configured using a simple and user-friendly software tool which is provided free of charge. Our newest models have hardware preset switches to which user configurations can be assigned, a feature designed specifically for OEM customers who may wish multiple configuration implantations without using software.
